One day we hope there’ll be a Tales by Mail box for every age group, until then we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite reads for slightly younger bookworms (ages 5-7).

As they sing and recycle their way through the days, despairing at just how much rubbish ends up in the sea, drama unfolds! One of their jolly workforce has been blown out into the ocean and their rescue mission will lead them to all sorts of adventures, discoveries and friendly fish!
3 | THE WORST CLASS IN THE WORLD BY JOANNA NADIN:
A hilarious story about a mischievous class and their very serious and hassled head-teacher. Mrs Bottomley-Blunt dubs 4B the “WORST CLASS IN THE WORLD”! With a biscuit battle, a show-and-tell disaster, and series of escaped hungry pets, this chaotic class certainly keep teachers on their toes (and make us howl with laughter).
4 | OLIVER AND THE SEAWIGS BY PHILIP REEVE AND SARAH MCINTYRE :
A wonderfully imaginative, action-packed tale about Oliver – the son of a duo of wacky explorers, who find himself on an adventure of his own when his parents mysteriously disappear. On a friendly island named Cliff, Oliver recruits a grumpy albatross and short-sighted mermaid to help him track down his parents. But first they must defeat the army of greasy green sea monkeys!
5 | CLAUDE IN THE COUNTRY BY ALEX T SMITH:
Claude, the beret wearing dog, and his highly sophisticated bobbly sock accomplice (who loves frothy coffee!) are firm favourites at Tales by Mail Towers. In this episode the loveable duo head out for a quiet walk in the country, which turns into a full on day at the farm, mucking out pigs, feeding chickens and lassoing a fearsome bull!
